About Us / About You

It’s all about you

We set up National Homes Supported Living (NHSL) to provide help and encouragement to the most disadvantaged members of our community, in particular the homeless and the unwaged. But we will help anyone in need, providing expert advice, assistance with form filling and job applications, and hand-holding through their contacts with government agencies. This page tells you all about us – but it is all about you.

What is a Community Interest Company?

NHSL is a community interest company, which means it was set up to benefit the community rather than any private shareholders. So all of our assets and income, apart from that which we need to pay our way, is used for social purposes – in our case, to help the most disadvantaged people in society.

How we are organised

NHSL has a small full-time staff supported by a network of volunteers and associates. We have the backing of a number of larger social businesses, and the support of various specialist professionals who give their time and expertise free of charge. As a limited liability company, we have a board of directors which is responsible for running the business and for ensuring that we comply with the requirements of the Community Interest Company Regulator. If you would like to work with us and support us, read more about what’s involved.

Who We Help

Very simply, we will help anyone who needs it. But principally, we help the homeless, jobless, and those who find it difficult to deal with the requirements of official agencies, government departments, and local authorities. If you need help, get in touch and we’ll do whatever we can.
